Well, things are just about shifting back into the okay camp over here in Froborr-land. I finally figured out that the reason I've been feeling "bleh" lately is simply that I effectively have had no rl friends for the last two months or so, and I never do anything fun by myself. So I've started making a conscious effort to do things like going to movies (which really is somehow better than watching them on DVD or downloading them, in some difficult-to-define way) and playing non-DDR video games. For example, thanks to [info]princess_tutu I am now making up for my horribly deprived childhood with a perfectly functional NES and SNES, including my favorite game as a kid (the original Super Mario Bros) and two games I desperately wanted and could never afford, Mario 3 and Zelda: A Link to the Past. Which, of course, I own the GBA version of, but the SNES version is the one I wanted as a kid, and therefore better. There's some other games in there, too, including Super Mario World, which, believe it or not, I have never actually played. I'm quite happy with it.

Anyway, yeah, [info]cnorgard, I'm beginning to understand why you hate New Jersey so much. Having nobody but your family and fake Internet people (no offense, I hope -- why, some of my best friends are fake Internet people!) to talk to for weeks on end sucks. But yeah, it's getting better.

Tonight I had dinner at a really great Indian place, which I had no idea existed, a mile from my house. Two good, crisp, hot samosas for $2, an excellent mulligatawny soup with a nice sneak-up-on-you medium spiciness for $3, and good aloo ghobi -- perfectly cooked vegetables that melted in your mouth, a mild, sweet spiciness with a hint of ginger, and a touch too much cilantro (which is to say, it contained cilantro) -- for $7. Plus they have an all-day buffet $11 for the full thing and (this is the interesting part) $7 for vegetarian dishes only. Since I generally go vegetarian whenever I eat Indian, because they make AMAZING veggie dishes, I might go for that sometime. What I'm *definitely* going to do is walk up there for lunch and buy a couple of samosas some time. Lunch for $2 is tough to argue with.

Oh, and I now weigh less than 200 pounds. At least, I did before dinner. I'm less sure now. Regardless, woot! I am marginally less disgustingly obese!

Edit: Oh yes, I *am* a bit peeved that nobody seems to care about the destruction of our research libraries. Am I the only person bothered by Google having the power to hold all of academia, AND the U.S. Congress, hostage on a whim?

I'm very peeved, I just didn't comment. ^^ I read it at work.

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one. [info]cnorgard also mentioned that it bothered him, but he's not sure what to do about it.

Probably because it's very late, I want to make some snarky comment, possibly a pun, to do with libraries and libertarianism, but I think I'll refrain, because my judgement is hour-impaired and therefore not to be trusted.

You're quite welcome. Although, I still say I undercharged you. I didn't know you were dying for those games! Then again, I suppose we ARE friends. Damn it. : P

Other then that it fills me with rage, which I believe was brought up in an AIM conversation there's not much I can really say.

Not beyond 'rocks from orbit shall drop!'
