Haiku and Thanksgiving Update

While cleaning the drain before a storm hit (if it clogs, the basement floods), I had an incident which sparked a haiku.

Sensual caress
Leaf falling on shirtless back
Hints the storm is near

Yeah, it's awful, I know. Still had to do it. It's the closest I've ever come to a "real" haiku -- thematic as well as syllabic requirements. Of course, haiku don't actually have syllabic requirements, they have phoneme requirements, but that doesn't really translate well into English.

Anyway, Thanksgiving. Definitely having it on Friday, tentatively at 4 p.m. We will be providing turkey, stuffing, cornbread souffle, mashed potatoes, and sweet potatoes/yam/squash/similar. Oh, and probably a pie of some sort. IF someone specifically requests it BY THIS WEEKEND, we will also provide gravy. Anything else you want, you'll have to bring.

Guest list tentatively stands at 8 -- myself, John, Brian, Mike, my sister, two of her friends, and probably Cyrus. If anybody else wants to come, I'm going to have to declare it a potluck, because I can't cook for many more people than that.

As far as Thursday is concerned, thanks to all of you for your invitations. I'll try to let you know in the next day or two which I'm taking. Transport is an issue, so anyone unable to offer me transportation, let me know.
