I'll start this bloody meme if it kills me.

Comment to this with the titles and authors of the three books that have most influenced your life. They can be anything: picture books, religious texts, fiction, nonfiction, things you read as a child, things you read as an adult, etc. Here's mine:

The Big Orange Splot by Daniel Pinkwater (Non-conformity, defiance of authority, self-expression, irony, and subversion, all in about a hundred words; I think I had this read to me long before I could read.)
The Mysteries of Harris Burdick by Chris Van Allsburg (If you have read it, you understand. If you haven't, buy a copy -- it's still in print. Quite possibly the greatest picture book ever written/drawn.)
The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark by Carl Sagan (Ubi dubium ibi libertas.)

Add comments as I did if you want, or just let the list speak for itself. Other creative works, such as plays, movies, and video games, are acceptable, you illiterate bastards. Copy this meme to your own journal if you like.

On a side note, I've figured out why I hardly ever dream: other people are having my dreams. It's probably random who gets what dream, and I never would have noticed if I hadn't gotten lucky: one of my friends got one of them, and told me. I think there was a Northern Exposure episode about this.

Update 2:15 p.m.: SNOW! And about time, too.
